August Pickleball Clinics coming to Carrie Blake!


Do you want to give your pickleball game a jump-start? Sequim Picklers presents a three-hour clinic Friday, August 26, and Saturday, August 27 at the Carrie Blake Park courts.


Pickleball Pros Doug Hastings and Joel Meier are teaching the Clinic, which includes lots of active hitting, a great player-to-coach ratio, and jam-packed drills with tested and tried pickleball content, all at a very affordable price.


101 class. Offered Friday, August 26, 2:00-5:00 p.m., 12 spots available. This class is open to all abilities and is designed for 2.0-3.0 players. Learn to play correctly before bad habits set in.

Overview: A. Grip B. Athletic stance, “stay low” C. Objectives of the game D. Basic Strokes * Dinking, lobbing, 3rd-shot drop * Volley, blocking, smashes * Overhead, serve and return * Doubles play * Court positioning * Scoring * Basic rules


201 class. Offered Saturday, August 27, 12:00-3:00 p.m., 12 spots available. This class is designed for high 3.0 and above. It is focused on the transition game. * Transition game, 3rd-shot drop, drives, lobs * Specialty shots * Serve and return


301 Class. Offered Saturday, August 27, 3:30-6:30 p.m., 12 spots available. This class is designed for the 3.5-4.0 player. This will be a development of the kitchen game. * Dinking with purpose * Speed-ups * Resets * Blocking * Offensive lobs * Kitchen strategy


These likely will be the last clinics offered here in 2022. Spots will fill up fast. Please email me at pickleballkendal@gmail.com to reserve your spot.


Cost is $50 for members, $60 for non-members. I will notify you to let you know if you have a spot reserved. I will collect checks made out to Doug Hastings at some point. If you are unsure which class you should take, email me. I have sent the information to the City. Three courts will be taken during these times.
