Special Announcement — November 4, 2022 Director, Assistant Director of Court Operations name

In a unanimous vote by the Sequim Picklers’ Board of Directors, David Goose has been named Director of Court Operations for the remaining 2022/2023 term ending July 31, 2023. ‘Goose’ selected Cris Gonzalez as Assistant Director of Court Operations. Both Goose and Cris are members of the Pickleball Court Operations Committee (PCOC), which includes Libby Hartman, Phil Milliman, Bill Schiffman, Ken Wahl, and Rob Wright.

Club Vice President Bill Schiffman conducted multiple interviews in person, by phone, and in a Zoom call before presenting his selection to the Board.

“Their combined skillset in court operations and technology is a slam dunk, a perfect fit,” Bill said. “You add to that our current Pickleball Court Operations Committee members, and we have a great team to manage the courts and activities at Carrie Blake Park.”

The Director of Court Operations (DOCO) is a voting member of the Club’s Board of Directors. Working with the Assistant DOCO and the PCOC, the DOCO is responsible for all facility management issues under the Club’s control, as well as developing organizational calendars for Round Robin play; establishing times and rules for Challenge Courts; managing the skill rating process; developing additional winter-play facilities as appropriate; maintaining the Club’s focus on providing training, clinics, and developmental opportunities for all skill levels; and managing and/or coordinating all tournaments hosted by Sequim Picklers.
